Rob Thomas started Eureka back in 2000, and since then, he has done work for nearly every major shopping centre in Johannebsurg, and quite a few centres beyond.
The name, of course, stems from Archimedes' famed outburst when he discovered, upon taking a bath, that a body displaces water. It means "I have found it," which in this context is used as a marketing turn of phrase:
You have found your market.
You have found your strategy.
Your have found your brand.
You have found the answers in the research.
Your market has found you.
Rob started at the Info Desk at Eastgate back in 1995, and since then, has worked for a litany of shopping centres and shopping centre industry role players in various capacities, from full-service marketing, to research and strategic writing, and everything in between.
He has a master's degree in marketing communications and is a Certified Marketing Director with the International Council of Shopping Centers in New York - one of only a handful of people who have been certified in South Africa.
